Terms of Service
Last updated: August 3, 2026
1. What this covers
These terms apply to all Quantum Native properties: quantumnative.io, Quantris, Quantum Chess, Ponq, Bloch Invaders, and any other games or services we operate. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You can sign in with Google, Discord, GitHub, or supported platform accounts such as Steam where available. Your Quantum Native account works across our properties. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Paid services, subscriptions, and Steam entitlements
Some Quantum Native services may offer paid purchases, premium features, trials, or recurring subscriptions. Web and PWA subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Steam purchases are processed by Valve through Steam. We do not store your full payment card number.
If you start a Stripe subscription, you authorize Stripe to charge the payment method you provide on a recurring basis for the plan shown at checkout, plus any applicable taxes, until you cancel. Trial subscriptions convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless canceled before the trial ends. You can manage or cancel a Stripe subscription from the account screen or the Stripe-hosted customer portal.
Canceling a subscription stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund the current billing period unless required by law or separately approved by us. Refund requests for Stripe subscriptions should be sent to support@quantumnative.io. Refunds for Steam purchases are handled through Steam and Valve's refund process.
Quantum Chess on Steam may include bundled premium access for a linked Quantum Native account. Steam-linked premium grants require account linking and ownership verification. Bundled access is not cash, has no separate cash value, and may be revoked or adjusted if a purchase is refunded, reversed, found fraudulent, or no longer qualifies.
4. Games in development
Many of our games are under active development. This means:
- Features may be added, changed, or removed
- Bugs will happen
- Game data or progress may be reset during major updates
We'll do our best to communicate significant changes ahead of time.
5. Blog comments
When you post comments on our blog, you agree to:
- Keep it civil. No harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks.
- Not post spam, ads, or malicious links.
- Not impersonate others.
We may remove comments or restrict accounts that violate these guidelines. Comments may be automatically screened for toxicity.
6. Acceptable use
Across all of our games and services, you agree not to:
- Use cheats, exploits, or unauthorized modifications
- Manipulate leaderboards or scores
- Reverse engineer or decompile our software
- Use our services for anything illegal
7. Personal use only; commercial and public exhibition
Your access to our games — including free web versions, PWA installs, and copies purchased on Steam or other stores — is licensed for your personal, non-commercial use.
Operating our games for the public or for commercial purposes requires a separate license from Quantum Native. This includes, for example: running a game on a kiosk, arcade cabinet, or public installation; exhibiting a game at a venue, museum, gallery, trade show, or event; offering gameplay as part of a paid or ticketed experience; and hosting or rebroadcasting our games as a service. If you want to do any of these, we'd love to hear from you: licensing@quantumnative.io.
Casual streaming, videos, and content creation from personal play are welcome and are not considered commercial operation under this section.
8. Intellectual property and trademarks
Quantum Native, our games, and all related content (graphics, audio, code, game mechanics) are owned by Quantum Native. Our games are powered by Quantum Forge, our proprietary quantum simulation engine. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.
Quantum Chess® is a registered trademark of Christopher Cantwell (U.S. Reg. No. 5,242,360). Quantum Native, Quantum Forge, Quantris, Ponq, and Bloch Invaders are trademarks of Quantum Native. Nothing in these terms, and no open-source license covering any of our code (including the Quantum Chess SDK published under the MIT license), grants any right to use these names or our logos to brand a product, service, event, or tournament. Sanctioned use of these marks — for example for tournaments or exhibitions — is available under a separate agreement via licensing@quantumnative.io.
9. User content
Content you create (comments, bug reports, feedback, replays) remains yours. By posting it on our platforms, you grant us permission to display it and use it to improve our services. We may implement similar ideas independently.
10. No warranties
Our games and services are provided "as is." We don't guarantee uninterrupted operation, preservation of all data, or compatibility with every device or browser.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Quantum Native is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
